Here are a few stats:
- The average shopper sees 4,000 ads in a day.
- The average person is interrupted once every 8 minutes.
- On average, people spend 3 hours and 15 minutes per day on their phones.
- The typical American spends three hours per day watching TV.
- The stats on prayer aren’t quite as good.
On average, couples spend about two to two and a half hours a day together, including weekends, according to the Office for National Statistics. That time is largely spent watching television (one-third of all the time spent together), eating (30 minutes) and doing housework together (24 minutes). Source.
With all of this in mind, take a moment to just say nothing and “be” with those you care about. In the end, the only resource you have that is limited is time. Spend it with people you care about. Don’t let the world steal your time because you aren’t promised tomorrow. Make memories. Leave something behind that matters. It doesn’t matter whether you say anything. Maybe you say nothing. Just drink in being with someone you truly care about.
